Parades in Bridgeport and McKinley Park have been taking place for over 117 years.

Bridgeport and McKinley Park have a long history of hosting parades. For over 117 years, these two neighborhoods have been the site of many community celebrations. From Memorial Day parades to Fourth of July festivities, these parades have brought people together to enjoy the summertime. Wouldn’t it by fun to see a 4th of July Parade down 35th Street?

Parade celebrating the feast of St. John the Baptist on June 24, 1903. The parade began at West 35th Street and South Archer Avenue in the McKinley Par community. and followed a meandering route, and ended at St. Joseph and St. Anne Church on California Ave at West 38th Place in the Brighton Park.

It’s time to have a huge parade for our community. Down 35th Street. Maybe in the spring or summer. From 35th and Damen to 35th & Halsted.
