Artist and Crafters to celebrate “Day of the Dead,” at Mckinley Park October 23

A neat “Day of the Dead Arts & Crafts Show” is coming to Mckinley Park on Saturday October 23 from 10am to 2pm. There will be live music artists, crafters and vendors. Admission is free.

Over 25 Artist and Crafters will be at the event. One such artist/crafter is Eileen Whelan of Bungalow Bias Chicago. Eileen learned to sew during her seventh-grade sewing class at Kinzie Elementary School. While Eileen primarily creates fabric baskets and bags, she also started sewing masks amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic.

By day, Eileen is a Math and Science educator for the Chicago Public Schools and in her free time Eileen is a skilled sewist. Eileen has earned high praise for her work as both a teacher and sewist.

STEVE DEMITRO GIVING AWAY FREE All DAY PASSES TO CHICAGO WATER TAXI

Mckinley Park resident and attorney Steve Demitro will be giving away free tickets for CHICAGO WATER TAXI. Starting at 10:00am, the first 50 adults who attend the October 23 “Day of the Dead” Arts & Crafts show at McKinley Park will receive 1 free Adult All Day Pass. (The tickets have no expiration date.)

Steve Demitro a high respected attorney is active in the community. Steve hosts Chicago’s Best Kids Fishing Derby out of Mckinley Park and is the recipient of the 2020 Community Service Award by the Mckinley Park Civic Association.
