Despite a fish kill at the McKinley Park Lagoon in June, wiping out thousands of fish, including many good size Largemouth Bass. The lagoon was restocked over the summer with mostly small sunfish under 4 inches. No Large Mouth Bass were stocked into the lagoon, and some decent size Channel Catfish. U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley, a prominent environmentalist and conservationist, attended the event and energized the large crowd with a promise to call the Governor and urge the IDNR to stock larger fish and more types of fish into the lagoon.
