McKinley Park Memorial Day Parade Celebrates 55 Years of Tradition (Amazing Photos)

The McKinley Park Memorial Day Parade marked a major milestone this year, celebrating its 55th anniversary as a cherished neighborhood tradition. Residents lined the streets to honor fallen service members and enjoy the sense of unity the annual event brings to the South Side community.

With flags waving and marching bands playing, the parade once again served as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made in defense of the nation. Organized entirely by volunteers from the McKinley Park Civic Association and the American Legion William McKinley Post 231, the event reflects the dedication and pride of local residents.

From youth groups and veterans to local schools, the parade featured a wide range of participants that highlighted the community's strong civic spirit.

A Living Tradition

Chris Banian, President of the McKinley Park Civic Association, was on hand to help lead the celebration. The 55-year milestone is a testament to the enduring commitment of McKinley Park volunteers who have kept this tradition alive through decades of change.

The parade remains one of the most beloved annual events on the South Side, drawing families from across Bridgeport, McKinley Park, Canaryville, and beyond.
