NJTV Transforms Into Townhall Of The 11th Ward.  Thousands View Aldermanic Run-Off Candidates Forum 

Neighborhood Journal TV held a live stream on Monday, March 20 for the 11th Ward Run-Off Candidates. The candidates forum achieved tremendous success. The live-stream posted on the Facebook platform has already been viewed by thousands of people and the number of views continues to increase.

The moderator, Steve Demitro, was introduced by former CBS2 News anchor Rob Johnson. The platform provided an opportunity for viewers to ask questions directly to candidates real-time through the live-stream. 

Viewers submitted questions real-time on various topics ranging from crime to city services, and drag-racing.

Additionally, a community leader and public health ambassador, Lilia Guevare, expressed her concern via-video about a proposed cannabis dispensary opening in the 11th Ward. The proposed dispensary 3455-3459 S. Ashland would be located only kitty corner to a drug rehabilitation center and blocks away to three grammar schools and a daycare center. In the works is another drug rehabilitation center only blocks away from the proposed cannabis is expected to open soon.

In a prior interview, Paul Vallas addressed the significant proportion (90% high schools ) of CPS students who were falling below grade level in math and science. The video was shown to the candidates. Subsequently, the candidates were queried about who should bear responsibility for the subpar academic outcomes.
