Community learns about COVID-19 during Virtual Town Hall meeting from ER Doctor and gets crime update from CPD.

A Virtual Town Hall meeting put together to help keep the community informed during the pandemic was a huge success.  Residents from both Bridgeport and McKinley Park logged in to join the meeting hosted by attorney Steve Demitro.  The main speakers were ER physician Dr. Lon Sporles and Chicago Police Officer Jason Sollis of the 9thDistrict.

The meeting also included community leaders and organizations such as; Susan Pletch of McKinley Park Civic Association, Roy Pletch, member of Blessed Sacrament Council, MPCA, AMAC,  Rev, Darrel Daulton of Bethany Baptist Church, Rev. Adam Gawel of St. Andrew Lutheran Church,  Aquinas Literacy Center, Justin Kerr, publisher of the McKinley Park News and member of the McKinley Park Development Council.  The event also provided community organizations with a way to communicate with each other during the pandemic.

Dr. Sporles used slides to give a fascinating presenting on what the medical community is learning about COVID-19, and how hospitals are treating COVID-19 patients in the Chicagoland area.
