Real Estate

Chicago is in a hot real estate market. Thinking about buying or selling a home?  If so, you will need to sign a Real Estate Contract.  Best to know what the language in contract means before you sign rather than after. A few examples; an Attorney Modification clause in the Real Estate Contract. Does this clause mean you can get out of the Contract? Can a Seller be responsible to the Buyer for Damages and legal fees if they make a misrepresentation on the Residential Real Property Disclosure Report (765 ILCS 77/35)? You may be surprised to know the legal answers to the questions. The seminar will go over a general overview of the legal process of buying or selling a home and some of the legal pitfalls one may encounter. A general overview of the Chicago’s Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance will also be presented.

Personal Injury

When someone is injured in an accident because of someone else’s negligence, a process begins that can be confusing. A personal injury claim is a formal process in which the injured party (plaintiff) seeks financial compensation from another party that they feel is liable (defendant). Often times the incident is covered by insurance. Illinois statute of limitations places restrictions on how long a person has to file a lawsuit if they are injured. Knowing the basics about a personal injury claim may help an injured party. The seminar will give a general overview of the legal process of a personal injury claim. Including but not limited to various causes of action relating to Personal Injury claims.
